Fiesta de los Reyes Magos

Today we went to a Three Kings Day celebration!
Three Kings Day (aka Epiphany) is the end of the Christmas season.
It is when the three wise men (Caspar, Melchior, Balthasar) went to the baby Jesus and gave him gifts of Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh.
In Latin America, children put out hay for the camels...and they wake up in the morning to see if the wise men have left them any gifts...
We didnt have hay today...but the kids decorated boxes...shredded paper was put inside...and while the story of the Three Kings was told to the kids... the boxes were filled with surprises!
We also had a potluck lunch (I took tamales) and we were entertained by a dance group called:
Ballet Folklorico Moyocoyani Izel
They were FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!
I highly recommend seeing them if possible!

We had a very fun day...and hope to do it again next year!
